Here is a selection of the questions often asked at our clinics, together with some handy and helpful answers.

How soon can I get an appointment?
- We may have availabilities on the same day, so if it is an emergency, please call and we will do what we can to fit you in.
- Our peak times are on weekends, after school hours, and during school holidays, so if you prefer to come during these times, it is best to plan ahead.
- In general, the wait time is a few days in advance.
What should I expect at my first dental appointment?
- When you first arrive, you will be asked to complete a New Patient Form. This details your dental and medical history, and is necessary for the dentist to treat your specific needs.
- During your appointment, the dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination to determine the current state of your oral health, diagnose any current or potential dental problems, and to plan treatment options for you. The dentist will discuss these with you, so that you can make an informed decision about your oral health.
- The dentist may also take x-rays to help them diagnose problems that may exist under the surface of your teeth.
I have a Hospital Voucher. Can I use this at your surgery?
Yes! Hospital Vouchers can be used in some locations. Please call to make an appointment, and advise the receptionist that you have a hospital voucher.
I don’t have dental insurance. Can I still come to No Gaps Dental?
Yes! If you do not have private health insurance for dental, you can receive a FREE consultation. During the consultation, the dentist will have a look at your teeth and gums, and advise you of what treatment is required, as well as provide you with a quote.
Do you Bulk Bill under Medicare?
- Yes, but only under the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
- For patients who are not eligible for the CDBS, Medicare does not provide any funding for dental, therefore we are not able to bulk bill.
How does the “no gaps” with health insurance work?
- For basic treatment including your consultation, scale and cleaning, x-rays, fluoride and fillings, whatever your health insurance pays as a full benefit will be accepted as full payment, as long as the following conditions are met:
- You are insured on the day of treatment
- You have your current, working health fund card on the day of treatment
- You have not reached your annual monetary or service limits
- You have paid your insurance premiums up to date
- If the above conditions are not met, you will be charged the full cost of treatment on the day of treatment
- For all other treatment, if your health insurance does not cover the full cost of your treatment, you will be responsible to pay the remaining balance.
